We recognize that some people favor the close-in feeling of long- established neighborhoods, while others with a suburban background prefer more lot space with more square footage in their homes. Accordingly, we create classic style homes for both tastes.
Our classic homes follow more traditional architectural styles, incorporating the layouts, features and amenities required for living in the world of today and tomorrow. They feature lower overall heights and minimize mass that often overwhelms the neighbors. Unique and tasteful renditions complement the neighborhood instead of clashing with it. The overall effect is a feeling of maturity, character and stability, without the impression of rawness that’s often projected by many new homes.
Our City Homes are configured for typical urban sites 40 feet to 60 feet wide, with or without alleys. We take pains to avoid “overscaling” by maintaining a lot-site ratio considerably below what is allowed. The frontal axis is narrower, with the side deeper to fit the lot. Floor plans and window placement maximize light and take full advantage of side yards. Separate garages leave space for yard and patio connections. Extensive landscaping helps transition the home into the neighborhood streetscape.
Town and Country Homes are designed for typical suburban sites 70 feet or more wide. The frontal axis is wider than the side, creating a prestigious appearance. The houses are generally larger than our City Homes, which allows for more living space and gracious interior flow. Larger lots provide more flexibility in building siting and the addition of patios, gazebos, gardens and other outdoor elements. Like City Homes, Town and Country Homes are designed to fit into the neighborhood, with additional care taken to highlight views of wooded areas, water, parks and other surrounding amenities
